Author Guidelines

These guidelines are intended for prospective authors wishing to submit a manuscript to GJILT. Please read the entire guide carefully before submitting through the journal's submission portal at https://ojs.edumc.id/index.php/gjilt.


ARTICLE TYPES & WORD LIMITS

  • Research Article: Original empirical research. 5,000 – 8,000 words (excluding references and abstract)
  • Case Study: In-depth examination of inclusive technology implementation. 3,000 – 6,000 words
  • Systematic Review: Comprehensive synthesis of existing research. 6,000 – 10,000 words
  • Technology Evaluation: Critical assessment of tools and platforms. 3,000 – 5,000 words
  • Policy Brief: Evidence-based policy perspectives. 2,000 – 4,000 words

  • File format: .docx (Microsoft Word)
  • Font & size: Times New Roman, 12pt
  • Line spacing: Double (2.0)
  • Margins: 2.5 cm all sides
  • Abstract: 150 – 250 words
  • Keywords: 4 – 6 keywords
  • Citation style: APA 7th Edition

MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE

  1. Title — Concise and informative, maximum 20 words. Avoid abbreviations.
  2. Author information — Full name(s), institutional affiliation, country, and corresponding author email.
  3. Abstract — 150–250 words covering background, objective, method, results, and conclusion.
  4. Keywords — 4–6 keywords separated by semicolons, reflecting the article's main topics.
  5. Introduction — Background, problem statement, objectives, and significance of the study.
  6. Literature Review — Critical synthesis of relevant prior research (may be integrated into Introduction).
  7. Method — Research design, participants, instruments, procedures, and data analysis approach.
  8. Results — Clear presentation of findings with tables and figures where appropriate.
  9. Discussion — Interpretation of findings in relation to existing literature and theoretical frameworks.
  10. Conclusion — Summary of key findings, implications, limitations, and recommendations for future research.
  11. References — APA 7th Edition format. Minimum 20 references, with at least 80% from the last 10 years.

FIGURES & TABLES

  • All figures and tables must be numbered consecutively and referenced in the text.
  • Each figure and table must have a descriptive caption.
  • Figures must be submitted at minimum 300 DPI resolution in JPEG or PNG format.
  • Tables should be created using Word's table function, not as images.
  • Data in figures and tables must not duplicate information already presented in text.

SUBMISSION PROCESS

  1. Register or log in to the submission portal at https://ojs.edumc.id/index.php/gjilt
  2. Prepare your files — manuscript (.docx), title page with author details, and supplementary files if any.
  3. Complete the submission form — fill in all metadata including title, abstract, keywords, and author information.
  4. Upload your manuscript — ensure the main manuscript file contains no author identifying information (for blind review).
  5. Confirm submission — review all details and submit. A confirmation email will be sent to the corresponding author.

Note: Manuscripts not prepared according to these guidelines may be returned to authors prior to the review process. Authors are encouraged to use the journal template available on the submission portal.

Submission Preparation Checklist

  • The manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration by any other journal.
  • The manuscript is submitted in Microsoft Word (.docx) format, using Times New Roman 12pt, double spacing, and 2.5 cm margins on all sides.
  • The manuscript length complies with the word limit for the selected article type (Research Article: 5,000–8,000 words; Case Study: 3,000–6,000 words; Systematic Review: 6,000–10,000 words; Technology Evaluation: 3,000–5,000 words; Policy Brief: 2,000–4,000 words).
  • The abstract is 150–250 words and includes background, objective, method, results, and conclusion.
  • 4–6 keywords are provided, separated by semicolons.
  • The manuscript follows the required structure: Introduction, Literature Review, Method, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, and References.
  • All references follow APA 7th Edition format with a minimum of 20 references, at least 80% from the last 10 years.
  • All figures are submitted at minimum 300 DPI resolution in JPEG or PNG format, numbered consecutively, and accompanied by descriptive captions.
  • All tables are created using Word's table function (not as images), numbered consecutively, and accompanied by descriptive captions.
  • The main manuscript file contains no author-identifying information (name, affiliation, acknowledgments) to ensure blind review.
  • A separate title page has been prepared containing: manuscript title, all author names, institutional affiliations, countries, corresponding author email, and any acknowledgments.
  • Any conflicts of interest have been disclosed, or a statement confirming the absence of conflicts has been included.
  • Research involving human subjects has received ethical approval from the relevant institution, and this is stated in the manuscript.
  • The submission complies with GJILT's Publication Ethics, Plagiarism Policy, and Author Guidelines as stated on the journal website.

Original Research Article

Original research articles presenting new empirical findings, experimental studies, or theoretical contributions in the areas of inclusive education, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility. Manuscripts should follow standard academic structure (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion) and must not have been previously published or be under consideration for publication elsewhere.

Review Article

Comprehensive review articles that synthesize existing literature on topics related to inclusive learning technologies, digital accessibility, and special education. Systematic reviews, scoping reviews, and narrative reviews are accepted. Authors should clearly describe their search strategy and inclusion/exclusion criteria.

Case Study

In-depth case studies documenting the implementation, outcomes, and lessons learned from real-world applications of inclusive learning technologies in educational settings. Case studies should provide rich contextual detail and clear implications for practice.

Systematic Review

Rigorously conducted systematic reviews following established protocols (e.g., PRISMA guidelines) that provide comprehensive synthesis of evidence on topics within the journal's scope. Meta-analyses are also welcome in this category. Authors must provide a PRISMA flow diagram and pre-registration details where applicable.

The names, email addresses, and personal information entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.

Data Collection

GJILT collects personal data (name, email, affiliation, country) from registered users solely for the purpose of facilitating academic publishing, peer review, and editorial communication.

Data Use

Personal data is used to:

  • Manage author submissions and peer review processes.
  • Send notifications about submission status.
  • Communicate editorial decisions.
  • Distribute journal table of contents to registered readers who have opted in.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or transfer user information to third parties. Reviewer identities are kept confidential from authors in our double-blind peer review process.

Data Retention

Personal data is retained for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined above and to comply with legal obligations.
